Dental Bridges

If you are missing one or more teeth, dental bridges can often help to balance out your smile. Here at White Smile Dental, Dr. Hawatmeh can transform your smile with dental bridges. Much like crowns, bridges are made of long lasting, durable porcelain that can be color matched to blend in with your surrounding natural teeth. Dental bridges literally bridge the gap caused by missing teeth and are as attractive as they are functional.

Bridges can:

  • Restore your smile
  • Restore the ability to properly chew and speak
  • Maintain the shape of your face
  • Distribute the forces in your bite properly by replacing missing teeth
  • Prevent remaining teeth from drifting out of position

Dental Implants

A dental implant is an ideal tooth restoration for people who are missing one or more teeth as a result of injury, periodontal disease, or any other reason. A dental implant is a metal post that a periodontist or oral surgeon surgically positions into the jaw. Once in place and bone surrounding the implant has had time to heal, a replacement tooth is attached to the post. While implants are typically more expensive than other methods of tooth replacement, they provide superior benefits. Implants are stronger than natural teeth and generally last 10-20 years. They are also a more favorable approach than bridgework since they do not depend on neighboring teeth for support.

Dr. Ayed Hawatmeh is dedicated to providing you with the highest quality treatments. He provides beautiful dental implant restorations as the finishing touch for your procedure.

The Procedure

A dental implant is an option to replace a missing tooth. In this procedure, a small titanium shaft is surgically implanted into the bone and allowed to set. The bone grows around it forming a tight connection, which additionally slows or stops the bone loss that occurs when the root of a natural tooth is missing. Once the implant is firmly set in the mouth, Dr. Hawatmeh works to attach the replacement tooth onto the top of the shaft. This permanent solution has the advantages over bridge work that it does not stress the surrounding teeth for support, and, should the tooth wear out, another can simply be replaced on the shaft.

Implants can also be used as support as part of an implant bridge. This is an alternative to partial dentures, and has several advantages. First, there is no adjustment period to acclimatize the patient who, once the work is done, only feels teeth, not metal supports intruding into the mouth. Second, this slows the bone loss occasioned by missing teeth. Third, there is no discomfort or difficulty in eating. And, best of all, of course, they don’t have to be taken out all the time.

Dental Crowns

Missing or damaged teeth can negatively affect your ability to eat, as well as the overall health and function of your jaw and mouth. With dental crowns, our team of dental professionals, led by Dr. Hawatmeh can give your smile a beautiful, brand new look. Crowns are commonly utilized in dental implant procedures, root canal therapy, dental bridge treatments, to support a large filling, to restore chips or cracks, and to protect weak teeth from fracturing. These durable restorations can help improve the function and wellness of your teeth and gums.

Benefits of Dental Crowns

Dental crowns have a lot to offer. The great benefit to porcelain crowns is they cannot only replicate the original tooth in function, but can be designed to look like the original or even better. They remedy the physical pain and extreme discomfort that weak, decayed, or damaged teeth can cause. They also strengthen teeth, restoring your ability to bite and chew properly. They can dramatically improve the appearance of your smile, boosting your self-confidence in the process. Most of our patients are very pleased with the results of dental crowns.
